Team BikeExchange-Jayco is riding a brand new, unreleased 2023 Giant Propel at the Tour de France and we've had a chance to fondle it in person.
Interestingly, the new Propel looks less like an aero bike than the previous model, with slimmed down tubing that is, if anything, more TCR-like.
It's also got a rather more aesthetically pleasing stem than its predecessor, which looked distinctly top-heavy.
Giant has stuck with a seatmast for the new bike. If past experience is a guide, the more affordable models will have conventional seatposts.
A neat detail is that the bottle cages appear to be specific to the bike – each matches the width of the tube to which it's mounted.
Regardless of the changes, we don't doubt that Giant will say the new bike is faster, how could the brand claim otherwise?

Luke Durbridge's Giant Propel is built up with Shimano Dura-Ace R9200 components, but the power meter crank is the previous generation R9100 – BikeExchange-Jayco isn't actually sponsored by Shimano, so the team wouldn't be first in line when components are in short supply.
Durbridge's bike is fitted with unannounced Cadex C50 tubular wheels, while other members of the Australian team are on a tubeless version.
