Nairo Quintana will go down in history as one of the Tour de France’s nearly men. One of the best climbers of his generation, the Colombian has given us some of the most entertaining racing of the past 15 years.
Having given Movistar his prime years, he now does his business for French outfit Arkéa-Samsic and rides – like his former colleagues – on Canyon bikes.
For 2022, Arkéa and Quintana will be riding exclusively on Canyon Aeroad bikes, which might seem weird given the Canyon Ultimate is the brand’s climber’s bike and the new, unreleased Ultimate was being shown off by Movistar when we went behind the scenes at the start of Stage 2 in Roskilde.

While Quintana will mainly be waiting for the mountains to test his legs, the Camaleón stays ready to surprise all with his ability to hang around on cobbles and in crosswinds.
His bike is mostly black, but has a Joker playing card on his top tube, which the team has given to Quintana and Warren Barguil as the two team leaders. Apparently it’s a reference to them being Wild Cards.
