Ribble has added disc brakes to its Aero 883 model, which it says will be its most aerodynamic disc road frame.
The Ribble Aero 883 Disc, like all bikes from the British brand, will be available for full customisation through the online bike builder.
The bike was designed in partnership with Performance Engineered Solutions in Yorkshire, who have worked in Formula 1 and MotoGP, to optimise the bike for maximum aerodynamic performance.
Prices for builds using the new disc frame start at £1599, while the recommended specification comes in at £2899. This build includes a Shimano Ultegra Hydraulic groupset, Mavic Pro Carbon Disc wheels and Deda Zero 100 finishing kit.
'The Aero 883 Disc is a super-fast bike that now comes with added stopping power,' says James Dove, Ribble Product and Brand Director.
'The 883’s short top tube and head tube mean that it’s perfect for aggressive road riding, culminating in a lower aerodynamic front position,' he added.
With its aim of keeping drag to a minimum, the bike has a 'Kamm Tail' shaped seat tube and integrated seat clamp, while the rear wheel is positioned within the curber of the seat tube.
The shorter wheelbase is matched by a shorter top tube, which sits behind an aero head tube.
