Canyon has updated its Endurace platform with adjustments to its AL range and a new choice of Endurace CF models that bring the benefits of long-distance comfort to more affordable prices.
While endurance bikes are the opposite of buses – they fit one person, are comfortable and are built to cover solid distances without stopping – three have come along at once, with the Cannondale's updated Synapse announced earlier this week and now Canyon's Endurace AL and Endurace CF.
This announcement is a case of tech trickling down the brand's most popular frame's hierarchy, with Endurace CF SLX and Endurace CF SL already on the market, and adds an 'entry-level' carbon fibre option to proceedings and updates the existing Endurace AL to align with the design of the CF.

Canyon Endurace 2022: What's actually new?
The TL;DR here is that it's a blend of classic endurance bike ideas with a bit of that trickle down from Canyon's higher end machines.
That starts with geometry– see full chart with sizing below – which is more upright than the brand's racier frames as you'd expect, with a medium Endurace CF's stack-to-reach ratio at 1.56 compared to the Ultimate CF SLX's 1.45. What isn't altered is the trail, though, as the brand believes its 60mm for a medium helps maintain the agility and handling throughout its range.
Comfort is supported in the build, too, with the 27.2mm diameter VCLS – Vertical Comfort Lateral Stiffness – seatpost and integrated seat clamp set to dampen vibrations and add flex.

The progression of the AL spec was clearly needed, its old 28mm tyre clearance has been firmly left in the 2010s in favour of the 30mm on the front and 32mm at the rear that the bikes are now fitted with as standard for better grip and comfort.
This also cements the Endurace's all-road capabilities and Canyon says light gravel is also in its wheelhouse. There's even a special all-road model fitted with 35mm tyres that's fully equipped to handle surfaces beyond tarmac without needing to go full gravel with the wheels and tyres.

While they were altering the clearance, the fork has gone through a redesign with a diameter increase in an effort to improve stiffness, stability and steering up front and align the Endurace with the brand's other road bikes.
Finally, a BB86 pressfit bottom bracket has also been brought in for stiffness (purists, look away) and there are also eyelets on the top tube to mount a pack on the bike without needing to strap up.
Canyon Endurace 2022 geometry

The carbon and aluminium models share the same geometry numbers, with the smallest two sizes featuring smaller 650b wheels to keep things proportional, as on previous models.
Canyon Endurace 2022 models and spec
There aren't any women's specific models in the new collection, they do range from 3XS to 2XL though as you can see from the geo chart, so hopefully that doesn't rule out too many potential customers.
